Dr Atiq Zaman is an Associate Professor specialising in circular economy and zero waste practices at the Curtin University Sustainability Policy Institute, Curtin University, Western Australia. Dr Zaman has recently joined the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) as the Circular Economy Coordinator of the SMEP Program as part of Curtin University’s approved academic study program. He is also the Circular Economy Leader of the Sustainable Built Environment National Research Centre (SBEnrc) and the Curtin Node Leader of the National Environmental Science Program on Sustainable Communities and Waste Hub funded by the Australian Government (2021-2027). He is a member of the UN Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition (CEET). Dr Zaman is also a founding Co-director of the Global South Nexus (GSN), a research cluster promoting collaboration between the global North and South. He co-authored the book "Zero-Waste: Reconsidering Waste Management for the Future," published by Routledge.
