Dr. Wang Yi, a professor at the School of Environment, Tsinghua University, specializes in the harmless treatment and resource recovery of industrial solid waste, as well as nuclear pollution control and environmental protection. In recent years, he has conducted in-depth research on the resource recovery of bulk industrial solid waste such as fly ash, manganese slag, red gypsum (titanium gypsum), and high-titanium slag. Additionally, he has engaged in extensive technological development work in the treatment of radioactive wastewater generated during the operation of nuclear power plants, the sorting and disposal of solid waste from nuclear power plant operations, and the remediation of radioactive contaminated soil. Some of these technologies have already achieved commercialization.
