Prof. Wu is a New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education, China, 2023 Global Scholar Academic Influence Ranking, Top 2% Global Scientists at Stanford University, and Elsevier 2023 "China Highly Cited Scholar". He is currently the director of the Institute of Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control at Zhejiang University. His research is focused on long-term research on the theory and technology of organic solid waste resource utilization. He has undertaken more than 30 key research and development projects, 863 Program, scientific and technological support, and Zhejiang Province's key scientific and technological projects and tasks. There have been multiple achievements in the research and development of solid waste resource utilization technology that have been applied in large-scale projects. He has won the first prize of Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Award, and the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award.
