Prof. Sun, Ph.D. of Kyoto University, is the Yangtze River scholar. She serves as the Associate Editor of Waste Manage., the member of the ISO/TC300 Technical Committee, and committee vice chair of the Solid Wastes Branch of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences. Prof. Sun has long been engaged in research on solid wastes management, focusing on the development of the whole process in dioxins control technologies for solid wastes incineration, as well as biomass conversion technology. She has led the establishment of several large-scale demonstration projects. She has presided over more than 20 national research projects, including those funded by the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. To date, she has published over 200 academic papers, including Nature Commun., Adv. Mater., and Environ. Sci. Technol., and authored 2 academic monographs and 2 group standards. She holds more than 20 authorized invention patents and receives 3 provincial/ministerial-level awards.
